III. Board Reports
Jo Ann Tucker discussed the monthly programs:
July ÐViolence in the Workplace Ð Emerging Issues in Human Resources. Jo Ann advised that a LCD projector and laptop are needed. These tools can be rented from the Center Ð however the cost is around $200. Karen Bland and Sylvia Martinez will check with their companies to see if their equipment can be used. There was discussion about inviting law enforcement to this program and charging them the cost of a meal only. President Davis and Melissa Wear-Grimm talked about contacting the local police departments, but a decision to move forward was not made.
August Ð Jo Ann Tucker is working with Jesus Hernandez regarding his program Ð Cultural Competence in the Workplace. There is still uncertainty regarding what $250 constitutes for handouts. Jo Ann will try to follow up on this. The Board would like to review his materials prior to paying for and distributing them at the meeting. Discussion ensued about some of the board members possibly splitting the handout materials and doing the photocopying. As Jo Ann did not know what the costs were for, she would gather this information and report back to the Board.
September Ð First Annual Best Practice Workshop Ð Steve Bobst.
AVHRA Legacy Leadership Series Ð beginning on Tuesday, September 20th, a 6 week series being presented by Colin Brine. Brochures are ready to go to the printer. Begin with 250 copies. Series to be held at the Tech Center in Olds Station.
