III. Newsletter
á Ruth Erwert had a pressing meeting and needed to leave by 7:30 am and requested to present early. Ruth responded to last monthÕs board discussion of the validity of a monthly or bi-monthly newsletter. Ruth explored, by electronic survey, if members prefer to receive the newsletter via email or US mail. Of the 52 survey requests 39 members responded. 31 of the 39 responses indicated they would prefer to receive the newsletter electronically. The savings for mailings from every other month was minimal, with a $30 fee for the mailing every month and $20 fee to mail out just a postcard. Until further input is available, Ruth proposed that a formal change would not reduce costs at this time. The newsletter should remain monthly with members receiving the document electronically when requested. In an effort to control costs, Ruth asked if the newsletter could be shortened when there wasnÕt enough information to fill all 8 pages. Others replied that there was no set number of pages required and in fact had been fewer pages in the past. Ruth mentioned that Rene Zamora was reciting a higher priced program for his January presentation than what was published in the newsletter. Jo Ann responded that the Board sets the prices for programs, not the presenter.
